About

Who we are

Al-Aqmar Private Primary School is an educational institution in the Al-Mansour district of Baghdad, comprising a co-educational primary stage and an intermediate stage for girls.

The school was founded on an idea that is simple and difficult at once: that teaching should be modern and rigorous, and that character education belongs inside the lesson rather than beside it. That is why we combine the Iraqi national curriculum with the British Cambridge programme, and academic discipline with an environment where students feel safe.

We measure our success by the student who leaves us confident, responsible and able to keep learning on their own — not by grades alone.

What we believe

Understanding before memorising

A student who understands keeps what they learned; one who memorises forgets it after the exam.

Every student is individual

We don't treat a class as one block — we follow each student separately.

Partnership with families

Parents are partners in their child's education, not recipients of results at the end of term.

Discipline through respect

We build commitment from within, not through fear.
